The Movie:
The town is empty. Its residents are dead. Two women must know find a way out or else they may be next.
At first glance this title may seen rather dull but believe me when I say that this movie is creepy. From the beginning scene when the two sisters enter the town until the very end this movie sent shivers down my spine. Horror with a High Tech Ending - 4.25 out of 5 (7/31/2002)
This movie is an adaptation of Dean Koontz's novel of the same name. A Colorado town is taken over by an evil being. Everyone is killed outright and dismembered, or left whole and mottled. Some are devoured (with pieces left over) while others are merely preserved for later consumption.
Ben Affleck (the local sheriff), Rose McGowan (a local doctor), and Joanna Going (her younger sister) stumble upon the carnage but are somehow spared. Ben manages to call in federal reinforcements.

Phantoms: A True Guilty Pleasure........... - 3.75 out of 5 (3/8/2000)
The case with the sci-fi thriller "Phantoms" was a funny one, for me at least. I first saw the film upon its arrival on home video, and wasn't too impressed with the movie. I recently saw it again, this time in DVD format, and amazingly had a sudden change of opinion. I guess the impact of the DVD version had a little something to do with that. My decision to even experience "Phantoms" a second time came after a viewing of the "Mallrats" disc with the commentary featuring Ben Affleck, who freque
